The band CSN performed Suite: Judy Blue Eyes as their opening song at the Woodstock and Live Aid festivals. The title Suite: Judy Blue Eyes is a play on words for ‘Sweet Judy Blue Eyes’ and refers to Judy Collins, Stephen Stills’ former girlfriend who is known for her bright blue eyes. It was released as a single in September 1969 and peaked at #21 on the US singles chart (#11 in Canada). The song appeared on Crosby, Stills and Nash’s self-titled debut album. 
Suite: Judy Blue Eyes was written by Stephen Stills and performed by Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN). Neil has also been inducted as a solo artist and as a member of Buffalo Springfield. Crosby, Stills & Nash were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and all three members were also inducted for their work in other groups (David for the Byrds, Stephen for Buffalo Springfield and Graham for the Hollies). He left again before the release of CSN in 1977. By the time the band released their second album, Déjà Vu, in 1970, Neil Young had joined the band. It contained two top 40 hits, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, and Marrakesh Express. The album Crosby, Stills & Nash was released in May 1969 and peaked at #6 on the US album chart. 
Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) formed in the late 60s, the line-up featuring two Americans and an Englishman who had all been in successful bands David Crosby = The Byrds, Stephen Stills = Buffalo Springfield, and Graham Nash = The Hollies. 
In late 1969, they released a self-titled album that includes songs like, Marrakesh Express, Guinnervere, Wooden Ships, Hopelessly Hoping and Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. Before Young added the “Y”, CSNY were simply CSN.
